Artisan X – Development Overview Series

The Artisan X Overview series of video modules provide a high-level, but comprehensive overview of the full development cycle of an X-Plane add-on aircraft plugin. The purpose is provide a look at all the components of a sim aircraft and what tools and knowledge are required to successfully create them. The modules in this series are intended to address a number of factors which make it difficult to develop in an ever changing, ever growing environment:

Environmental Scan

The development of add-on flight simulation products is becoming increasingly complex requiring more and more development time and resources.
This complexity is increasingly becoming a barrier for aspiring and small-scale developers.
Current developer resources are sporadic at best. Most guidance towards a problem is often limited to adhoc discussions in forums.
The financial pressures on the developer community limits the ability for skilled developers to provide resources or assistance.
The developers of the major flight simulation applications struggle to provide adequate guidance and documentation for the latest versions of their applications
